PROJECT: The association “La Sermenza”, founded in 2018, has been active since 2015 and takes its name from the river Sesia. The Sesia river crosses Val Sermenza, one of the three valleys that make up the Valsesia. The association is committed to the protection of the landscape by restoring the centuries-old buildings in the mountains using ancient techniques. La Sermenza’s main focus is on the Walser constructions, a monument and Valsesian symbol, as well as the smaller monuments with their well-known stone roofs (Beola or Piode). For this year’s building camp the restoration of three dry stone monuments is planned. This includes the repair of soaking tanks, washhouses, storage facilities and the dry-stone walls of the buildings.
WORK: Joinery and carpentry work, drywall construction, roofing work, restoration, general renovation work.
