PROJECT: The “Hubertusmühle eG” near Gerabronn is a multigenerational residential project under construction, located in Hohenlohe, in the middle of a landscape conservation area, directly on the banks of the little river Brettach. The multigenerational project consists of a residential building with seven apartments and a large outbuilding, as well as a sauna, meadows and stables, which still need to be prepared for future animal husbandry. The goal of the project is to build an ecological, sustainable and social housing project at this location. Important to the Hubertusmühle community is also extensive self-sufficiency in food (permaculture, terrace garden) as well as in energy (construction of a ring trench collector with a heat pump and air conditioning). Due to this sophisticated energy concept, the Hubertusmühle was selected by the KfW Bank as a nationwide model project for “Energetic Renovation of Existing Buildings”. After completion of the extensive renovation work, about 15 residents of all ages will live in the Hubertusmühle. Due to water damage, a large part of the residential building is no longer usable and is now to be restored.
