MA Neckarau – Lebensnahes Lernen

PROJECT: The non-profit association „Lebensnahes Lernen“ in Mannheim is a child and youth welfare institution and accompanies young people in developmental crises who refuse school. The association looks after children and young people in the „Zwischenraum“, provides integration helpers at schools and arranges educational assistance. Two years ago, the children and young people of the Zwischenraum started a large neighbourhood project that is well worth seeing: „Das Brückl“ in Mannheim-Neckarau (www.zwischenraum-mannheim.de/project-brückl). Work, gardening, beautification and festivities are still going on there. Now, another area of almost 4000 square meters has been added in the immediate vicinity. The Aufi is to become a community project for people of all ages, for a nature kindergarten, the intermediate space, animals and a venue for cultural events. The project will be implemented close to nature and ecologically.
