PROJECT: The association “Omladinska Udruga Podum” (Youth Association Podum) is a non-profit association that implements social, cultural and educational projects. The aim is also the popularisation of the Croatian region Lika and dealing with regional problems and questions. Together with co-operation partners in Croatia and abroad the association develops international and regional projects for young humans and organizes seminars for workers and volunteers active in youth work. One focus of the association’s activities is working with socially disadvantaged young people and learning through practical work and international exchange. After successful building camps in the last years further development of the premises for a consulting and meeting place is to be worked on. During the construction camp in spring, the volunteers will build bedsteads and benches and paint walls, possibly also renovate a bathroom and another house, which is in a desolate state. In the two construction camps in summer, a collapsible stage and furniture will be built.
WORK: Woodwork, carpentry, painting, optionally tiling, demolition, bricklaying.
