Impressions from Roidin

The site was an old water mill on the outskirts of Roidin in the Utzedel district. The Mühlenhof, built in 1805, now consists of mill and residential buildings as well as a well house with watercourses, barns and stables. The Mühlenhof stood empty for several years and was left to decay. The renovation started in 2016 is intended to protect the listed ensemble from further deterioration and to make it accessible to the public. A meeting and cultural center with overnight accommodations for young people is planned. For this purpose, rooms in the former living area of the mill will be gradually refurbished, and work on the mill foundation and the water supply to the mill are planned.

Mushfig from Azerbaijan and Özge from Turkey: “Our advice for future volunteers: They should know that If they join this program they really will work but meeting other people and learning some new things about different countries are very good experiences.”
